Ölüdeniz, “Beach of Freedom”

BUTTERFLY VALLEY
KPieris Rapae, Euglapia Quadripunctia, Danaus Chtysippus, and others…. One of the most beautiful bays of Fethiye, ‘Butterfly Valley’, is located on a flat 10 hectares ground at the foot of a steep and deep valley. It is possible to pursue the life process of 30 types of daytime and 40 types of nighttime butterflies starting from the spring in the Valley which has appearance of an open air museum where the Mediterranean Sea level butterflies can be seen all together.
After enjoying the swimming in its little torques colored bay, there is a surprise waiting for the ones walking in the valley with such a rich flora….Two small waterfalls, reached at the end of steep and high abysses, provide a joyful shower possibility for the walkers. Butterfly Valley is an ideal alternative for the travelers’ having a holiday in a natural and safe environment totally refined from concrete.
THE ACTIVITIES
You can live the blue freedom either by doing tandem paragliding with an experienced pilot jumping from 1975 meters high Baba Mountain which lies just behind Olüdeniz, or by scuba diving or diving by snorkel in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Rafting and canoeing in the white waves of Dalaman and Eşen streams and trekking on the “Lycian Path” marked with the signboards at every 100 meters between Fethiye and Antalya above the Taurus Mountains, are among the other popular alternative tourism activities in the area.
